The Sumgayit Court of Appeal has upheld a decision to restrict access to the website reportyor.info because it is not listed in the state-run Media Registry. The case was initiated by the Media Development Agency. Arifə Aliyeva, the site’s founder and editor-in-chief, stated that they have appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court. Over the past year, more than 100 news portals in Azerbaijan, many known for critical reporting, have faced similar court-ordered access restrictions.
