Additional information:

The General Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal case against the websites Flagshtock and Zerkalo under the article on denial of the genocide of the Belarusian people (Part 1 of Article 130-2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus). The case was initiated «on the fact of distribution» of information by «a group of unidentified persons» and was sent to the Investigative Committee for preliminary investigation, the agency informs. Most likely, the reason was the publications about the graves of Stalin repression victims near Homel. On August 23, the media Flagshtock published an article claiming that the places of mass graves of victims of Stalinist repressions in 1937 appeared on the map of Homel. Later, Zerkalo republished this material. The authorities claimed that Nazi victims of World War II were buried there.
