Central District Court of Novokuznetsk fined Vyacheslav Krechetov RUB 20,000 under Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (organisation of an unauthorised event). The journalist was charged with filming a video message of eco-activists near the village of Cheremza on August 18. The journalist was considered an organizer of the protest action. The fine was appealed, the case was sent back for reconsideration; proceedings were terminated on December 2. Krechetov was detained on August 24 and held in police custody until the trial. He was taken by ambulance from the court to the hospital, from where on August 26, the police took him to the station again. A report under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (disobedience to a police officer) was drawn up on the journalist.
