On December 14, the employees of Meydan TV Aytaj Tapdyg and Hayala Agayeva and independent journalist Teymur Karimov went to film the action on the Shusha-Khankendi road, but were detained by «people in civilian clothes and black masks». Hayala Agayeva specified that the journalists were not given any explanations, but were simply put in a car and returned to Baku. The journalists reported that during the detention, their video cameras were taken away from them and the footage was deleted. In the morning of December 12, a group of representatives of non-governmental organisations, media representatives, and public figures associated with the Azerbaijani authorities blocked the Shusha-Khankendi road, which is under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers. The protesters were going to move towards Khojaly and Khankendi, stating that they were protesting against the illegal exploitation of Azerbaijani subsoil, but the peacekeepers did not let them pass.
