On September 9, police officers in Samarkand blocked all entrances to the house of journalist and blogger Bahodur Khasanov and forcibly took him from the house. The day before his arrest, Khasanov wrote on his Facebook page that law enforcers were persecuting him for publishing a video complaint by a Samarkand resident. On September 10, a court in Samarkand fined the blogger UZS 2,500 (about USD 200) and placed him under administrative arrest for 10 days for insult and petty hooliganism.
