Judge Romeo Tkeshelashvili fined journalist Nino Tarkhnishvili GEL 200 (approximately EUR 62) for allegedly failing to stand at the start of a court hearing. According to Netgazeti, Tarkhnishvili did stand but then sat down shortly afterward. The judge justified the fine by stating she had not received permission to sit. Previously, the judge had also removed several individuals from the courtroom for not standing and imposed a fine on another attendee for the same reason.
