The Revenue Service of Georgia seized accounts of online newspaper Batumelebi. Batumelebi writes that they have GEL 47,000 (EUR 14,900) recognised debt that they were paying. They requested a schedule to pay the debt step by step, but they were denied. Similar measure was taken against Radio Tbilisi few weeks ago after its owner wrote a critical post about a ruling Georgian Dream official. Batumelebi consider this a political decision and pressure against their media ahead of an important verdict coming against their founder Mzia Amaglobeli who faces up to seven years in prison. Meanwhile, pro-government outlet Rustavi 2 has GEL 25million debt and Imedi TV has GEL 17 million debt.
