Journalist Kirill Martynov has been named a defendant in a criminal case under Article 278 of the Russian Criminal Code (“Violent seizure or retention of power”) and Article 205.4, parts 1 and 2 (“Organisation of a terrorist community and participation in it”). The case targets all members of the Russian Anti-War Committee, which was established in late February 2022. According to the FSB, members of the committee were allegedly planning a violent seizure of power and financing Ukrainian paramilitary groups that Russia has designated as terrorist organisations.
