The Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Formula TV host and journalist Vakho Sanaia to six days of administrative detention for “artificially blocking the road” on Rustaveli Avenue. “Formula considers his arrest to be an act of pressure on our journalist and on independent media by the regime,” the channel said in a statement. Sanaia took part in the protest on 18 October. In court, he stated that he regards the new repressive laws as illegal and believes they must be abolished.
