The Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Keta Tsitskishvili, a journalist from the TV company Formula, to five days in prison. She was detained by police and charged with “blocking the road.” Since the morning of October 19, police have been detaining participants of the protest, accusing them of blocking the road or covering their faces during the rally. Under legislation recently tightened by the ruling Georgian Dream party, such offenses are punishable by up to 15 days in prison.
