Additional information:

On the evening of 4 October, police detained Mediachecker journalist Ninia Kakabadze while she was covering a protest on Rustaveli Avenue. Although she was released shortly after, she was later scheduled to appear in court on 5 October on charges of “artificially blocking” Rustaveli Avenue outside the parliament building. Kakabadze was clearly identifiable as a journalist, wearing a press badge visible in multiple video recordings of the protest. During trial in the Tbilisi City Court on 4 November, a representative for the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that Kakabadze had been on the roadway with protesters and had remained there after the police attempted to restore traffic. The journalist denied the charge, saying the police had not detained her on the roadway, and citing confirming footage. Trial was postponed to 12 November.
