On 27 December, the headteacher of the secondary school in the village of Nor Artik, Aragatsotn Region of the Republic of Armenia, Anahit Martirosyan, filed a lawsuit with the regional court of general jurisdiction (Aparan city registry) against the founder of Vestnik Aragats Ashkharh LLC and the editor of the newspaper of the same name, Vardevan Grigoryan. The claim demands a retraction of information considered defamatory, a public apology for insult, and compensation in the amount of 1 million drams (more than $2,500). The grounds for the lawsuit were articles published on 13 and 14 November, which stated that the school in question was in an unmanageable state, adversely affecting the quality of education. The case is currently under consideration.
