Journalist Nurlan Libre (Gahramanli), who was arrested in connection with the Meydan TV case, has been on a hunger strike in prison for 36 days. He says he is protesting inhuman treatment in detention and what he describes as the fabricated imprisonment of journalists. Libre outlined the reasons for his hunger strike in an article published on his Facebook page on February 20. In the article, he states that he was subjected to violence in prison on February 6. According to Libre, he was stripped naked and humiliated. He further reports that later that same day he was taken to court, where his health deteriorated and he required medical assistance.
