Central African Republic is rated one of the riskiest region. According to the White Paper, “violence in the capital Bangui, is of particular concern where persisting religious frictions have led to deadly attacks between Muslim and Christian communities. An ousting of one of the few Muslims in the government further fuelled tensions.” The company projects that “CAR could slide further back into violence in the coming months if their respective leaders are unable to make progress towards permanent peace settlements.” According to its prognosis, “Russia will likely look to capitalise on more limited engagements from the West to increase its footprint in CAR in particular, possibly with a view to expanding its influence elsewhere on the continent.”
