The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation included Alexey Semenov in the «foreign agents» registry. Along with him, seven other people were declared «foreign agents», including journalists Roman Dobrohotov, Yury Dud, Karen Shahinyan, cartoonist Sergey Yolkin and political scientist Ekaterina Schulmann. The Pskovskaya Guberniya website was blocked shortly after the invasion of Ukraine, and the police seized equipment from the editorial office. The media suspended operations at the beginning of March, and the editorial team was forced to emigrate.
