A criminal case has been opened against writer and publicist Dmitry Bykov for spreading “fakes” about the army and evading his duties as a “foreign agent.” According to the Investigative Committee, Bykov posted a video on “one of the video hosting sites” containing “knowingly false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces against the civilian population of Ukraine.” In addition, according to the Investigative Committee, the writer “in violation of the rules governing the activities of foreign agents” failed to provide the authorities with information “required by law.”
