Ekaterina Andreeva, a journalist for Belsat TV, was sentenced to two years in prison. She was held in the Zhodino pre-trial detention centre, and placed on a register of individuals “prone to extremism and other destructive actions.” As such, she will now be under special supervision by the prison administration, and authorised employees will have regular conversations with her. The cell where the journalist is kept will be marked with a special sign. When she is transferred to prison, her “extremist” status will be retained.
