An influential businessman Giorgi Kapanadze (Rizha), who has strong ties with the ruling party, filed defamation lawsuit against eight journalists of four media outlets, including investigative journalist Giorgi Mgeladze, from Radio Liberty. Lawsuit was filed against following media outlets: TV company "Formula", "Main Channel", "TV First" and "Radio Liberty". According to Mariam Gabrosvili , the lawyer of "Radio Liberty" and Giorgi Mgeladze , Kapanadze's lawsuit refers to the material of 2020 and therefore the statute of limitations has passed. The preparatory session was held on June 27, and was postponed without specifying a specific date. The plaintiff, businessman Giorgi Kapanadze, did not appear at the session.
