The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has arrested in absentia the editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta Europe Kirill Martynov on the case of organising the activities of an «undesirable» organisation (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The criminal case became known in September, and Russia put Martynov on an international wanted list. The case involves two «undesirable» organisations — Novaya Gazeta Europe and the Free University educational project.
