The editorial board of Novaya Rasskaz-Gazeta was charged with «discrediting» the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). The reason for the prosecution of the magazine was the text of Alexander Minkin, which cited the case of «discrediting» the army because of a poster with a quote from Leo Tolstoy, as well as the pieces «Empire Must Beсome Wild» by Andrey Kolesnikov and «History of the Arkanar Rant» by Kirill Fokin. According to the editorial board, the denunciation against the magazine was written by «an official named Wagner».
