Arrest warrants in absentia have been issued for several bloggers residing abroad, including İmamaddin Alimanov, Suleyman Suleymanlı, Elşad Mammadov, Mahammad Mirzali, Gabil Mammadov, Orxan Agayev, and Gurban Mammadov. On June 3, the Binagadi District Court reviewed motions submitted by the Prosecutor General's Office and approved the request to impose pre-trial detention measures against the named individuals. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan, the bloggers face charges under Article 220.2 of the Criminal Code (incitement to defy lawful authority, provoke mass unrest, and commit violence against citizens) and Article 281.1 (calls for the violent seizure of power, the overthrow of the constitutional order, or actions threatening the country’s territorial integrity, including dissemination of related materials).
