The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation included Roman Dobrokhotov in the «foreign agents» registry. Along with him, seven other people were declared «foreign agents», including collaborating with The Insider cartoonist Sergey Yolkin, journalists Karen Shahinyan, Yury Dud, Alexey Semyonov, and political scientist Ekaterina Schulmann. The Insider itself also been declared a «foreign agent» last year. Dobrohotov left the country following the searches. He has been wanted for illegal border crossing since the previous year.
