Holbash Holbashev, the general of the State Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security, originally from the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, has been detained in the Sughd Region of Tajikistan. He is the husband of the journalist Ulfathonim Mamadshoeva. The journalist had previously been detained and her flat had been searched. Authorities identified her as one of the organisers of a May 16 protest rally in Khorugh.
