On the evening of October 29, the State Security Service conducted search at the editorial offices of the Hurriyet newspaper, the Hurriyyet.az website, and Hurriyyet TV. Approximately 10 State Security Service officers entered the office of the online TV channel immediately after Vugar Mammadov's broadcast. After searching the office, they seized all of the channel's equipment. Around the same time, a search was also conducted at the editor-in-chief's rented apartment. On the same day, Mammadov has been detained. On October 31, the Sabail District Court of Baku ordered Vugar Mammadov to be remanded in custody for "extortion through threats". The court sentenced Mammadov to three months and 13 days in jail.
