The Investigative Committee reported that «for organizing and managing the activities of the terrorist organization Nexta» (Part 1 of Article 290-5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus), the main department for investigation of crimes in the sphere of organized crime and corruption of the central office of the Investigative Committee initiated a new criminal case against Stsiapan Putsila, Yan Rudik, and other persons. This article prescribes imprisonment for up to 15 years. The Investigative Committee states that «since 2020, the defendants have used their information resources to destabilise the situation on the territory of Belarus and radicalise the so-called protest actions». Earlier, Nexta, with its structural units Nexta Live and Luxta was recognized as a terrorist organization by the decision of the Supreme Court on the appeal of the Prosecutor General.
