By the sentence of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek of January 16, the activist was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (calls for active disobedience to the lawful demands of representatives of the authorities and for mass riots, as well as calls for violence against citizens). «Torokulova was sentenced to five years in prison, but was released from the courtroom with the application of three-year probation supervision. If there are no violations of the law during this period, the five years clause will not be considered, the term will end there», — the lawyer explained. Earlier, the prosecution noted that Torokulova shared two posts from the Facebook account Umai Aruu. One was «Zhaparov Mafia» and the other was «Let’s Organise an Online Rally» — a repost of a video by journalist Olzhobai Shakir.
