On March 20, Andranik Kocharyan, a deputy of the ruling parliamentary faction "Civil Contract" and chairman of the National Assembly’s permanent commission on defence and security, noticed that Hripsime Jebejyan, the head of the information service of the "Tribune.am" website, had joined the group of journalists talking to him. He demanded that she leave and not interfere with the conversation. In a mocking tone, the deputy also suggested that the journalist wipe her lips. Several journalist organisations issued a joint statement condemning the deputy's behaviour, which displayed discrimination against Hripsime Jebejyan both as a representative of the media and as a woman.
