The journalist Diana Lavryk arrived to report on the transition of the church from the Moscow-affiliated to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. During the event, representatives of the Moscow church initiated a physical altercation. Amid the chaos, stones and sand were thrown at the journalist, and she was sprayed in the eyes with pepper spray. Diana later filed a police report about the incident.
