On July 15, blogger Sherali Komilov (Detektiv Uz) was detained in the Durmon settlement of the Qibray District. The blogger was first taken to the Qibray District Police Department of the Tashkent Region, and then to Detention Centre №1 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the authorisation of the investigator, his house was searched and his belongings and equipment were seized. About 15 law enforcement officers took part in the detention. The blogger may be transferred to the Qashqadaryo Region, where a criminal case has been opened against him on charges of fraud, libel, and insult. Komilov has been hiding from the investigation for the past year.
